Ark Purchases, Adjusts Kansas Barn Sale

The Ark has purchased the Kansas Barn Sale from creator Beki Garcia. Since Garcia decided to retire from the popular McPherson community event, our team at the Ark is honored to keep Garcia’s passion for handcrafted and vintage items alive.

“I've worked very hard for many years as an entrepreneur, but I'm in a different season of life now, and I'd like to relax a little more,” says Garcia. “After high school, many students take a "gap year" - a year off to rest, explore, travel, and learn. So, I'm starting 2026 as my "gap year’, which may turn into full-time retirement.”

“In Kansas, in 2010, there were quite a few traditional craft shows, but I couldn't find any that also included antiques/vintage,” explains Garcia after being asked the reason for starting the Kansas Barn Sale. “Etsy was fairly new, and Pinterest was extremely popular, so I figured I'd create an Art & Antique show that brought those online sites to life!”

“Nature goes through seasons, life goes through seasons, and businesses go through seasons, too. Things may grow in new or unpredictable ways, but that's part of the beauty. Look for the beauty!” says Garcia. We intend to make her proud by growing this exciting event and providing more beautiful things for the public.

The next Kansas Barn Sale will be held inside the McPherson Community Building at 122 Marlin St. on Saturday, October 3, and will run from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. We will keep Beki’s original category system, with minor changes. Vendors are allowed to set up booths the evening before the event.

To purchase tickets online for the next Kansas Barn Sale, please visit ksbarnsale.com. Tickets purchased in advance will be $5. Tickets at the door will be $7. V.I.P. tickets—to get into the event an hour early—are available for $10 online, but hurry, they sell out quickly!
