Our Story
Established in 2015, the Kansas Barn Sale has been a favorite vintage adventure for shoppers and sellers alike from around the Midwest. In the early days, the Kansas Barn Sale was hosted at a variety of outdoor venues in Central Kansas.
The creator, Becki Garcia, brought this idea to life and hosted it from 2015 through 2025, then decided in 2026 to retire. As a one-woman show, Beki was responsible for operations, logistics, recruiting, marketing, setup, take down, etc. The event grew in popularity through the years and became unmanageable for one person.
In the spring of 2026, Becki sold the Kansas Barn Sale to CoffeyHouse Ventures, owned and operated by Ben Coffey. Coffey is the founder and owner of The Ark Antiques & Flea Market in McPherson, KS.
As Becki and Ben brainstormed, it was a conscious decision to keep the best parts of the Kansas Barn Sale true to their original form in many ways. The event will still be held on the first Saturday in October each year. For 2026, the Kansas Barn Sale will be held on Saturday, Oct. 3. The event will focus on vintage finds and handmade artisan goods. Hours will be set over the next few weeks.
Ben brings a team of employees adept at event planning and execution, operations, advertising, and logistics. Ben and his team created ThriftFest, one of the fastest-growing all-out sales manias, into an event attended by thousands of folks from around the Midwest. The team has also created the first-ever Midwest Vendor Professional Development Conference, inviting hundreds of vendors to train and grow their operations and profitability. Ben and his team also created and oversee the HWY 56 Sales Scramble, bringing tens of thousands of folks through central KS on HWY 56 to shop garage sales and small businesses as the highway snakes in and out of towns.
